Clarke County Hospital Erecting Tent

Clarke County Hospital Erecting Tent for Patient Check-in

As of this writing, there are no known positive COVID-19 cases in Clarke County.  On Monday, March 30, the National Guard will erect a tent in the southwest parking lot of Clarke County Hospital.  The National Guard has, and continues to, erect tents at hospitals throughout Iowa in an effort to pre-emptively plan for a possible surge in COVID-19 patient visits to healthcare facilities.  The tents will serve as a sheltered screening (check-in) area for patients prior to their entrance into the Hospital.

Clarke County Hospital is preparing for the possibility of a surge in patient visits, but hopes the erection of the tent is an unnecessary, preventative measure.  If the use of the tent becomes necessary, on-site directional signage will be posted for patient parking and access to the screening/check in tent.

Clarke County Hospital continues to urge all residents to practice social distancing, hand washing, surface sanitization, and stay at home measures.
