Once you get a referral from your primary care provider, you will be scheduled a consultation appointment with your podiatrist. This happens in a clinic setting. Patients can expect to go through a physical examination, discuss medical history, and undergo any tests the podiatrist thinks are necessary. Your podiatrist will likely look at how you stand, walk, check the range of motions in your joints and see how your shoes fit. They can treat some conditions in the office using a variety of tools and equipment.
